Sekapur Sirih is offering Jambi province dance arranged by Firdaus Chatab in 1962 and properly rearranged. The dance serves to welcome important guests. The dance describes the expression of people’s hearts in welcoming guests.

Sekapur Sirih dancer are 9 people by female, 3 male dancers and, 1 person in charge of carrying an umbrella and 2 guards. The tools are; Cerano / container containing betel leaf sheets, umbrellas, and Keris. Clothing; Baju Kurung/custom Jambi, Melayu style accompaniment with musical instruments consist of violin, lute, accordion, drum, gong and drum.

Before named Serampang Dua Belas, this dance called Pulau Sari, in accordance with the accompanying title song of this dance, the song of Pulau Sari. Serampang dua belas is not only developed and known by the public in Serdang area, but also spread to various regions in Indonesia, such as Riau, Jambi, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, even up to the Moluccas.
