Traditional Javanese Ceremony

In Javanese tradition, Ruwatan is a spiritual procession to remove bad luck living people who are in Sukertas (hard) Sukertas people, according to the story are the people who will be eaten by Kala. To get out of Sukertas one must di-Ruwat. In this ceremony was a puppeteer doing holy water and sprinkling Penguntingan to participants Ruwat hair and then Dilarung into the sea.

Joged Dangkung Dance

Joged Dangkung name supposedly comes from the sounds that came out of a dance musical instrument are drum and Gongs. The art that combines elements of dance, music, and singing that flourished in this fishing village is known since the 17th century, with the name Joged Tandak or Joged Lambak. The art of dance to the accompaniment of music and singing are scattered in the area Tembeling, Moro, Mantang, Long Island, and Batam. Songs played are Betabik, Dondang Sayang, Serampang Lau, tanjung Katung, Johor Siput Kelapa, Gunung Banang, Tandak Udang Gantung, Jambu Merah, Tanjung Balai and Batu Gule. Dance includes of opening (betabik dance), happy dance (Rancak), and dance soft cover. Number of players consists of 4-8 dancers, 3 musicians and a singer.
