Loji-Loji, The First Indisch In Yogyakarta
For hundreds of years they lived in Indonesia, including Yogyakarta, the Netherlands leaving a number of historic buildings. Those buildings are residents of Yogyakarta often called loji because of their large size with a large yard. Some of the heritage loji beauty can now be enjoyed with little cost, just down the area of the city center, starts from the intersection of Post Office. Loji oldest in Yogyakarta is located right across from Post Office, a building which is now called Fort Vredeburg. Building the castle which is often called the Great Loji or Loji Gede was built in the year 1776 – 1778, just two years ago after the founding of the Palace Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat one of the floating kingdom of Mataram.

The fortress was originally named Rustenburg was allegedly deliberately incorporated in the shaft Palace – The monument to be able to monitor movements of the Palace. As a fortress, the area is equipped with a variety of Great Loji building support, such as surveillance until resting place for the soldiers. During the Great Loji still used as a fortress, there is cannon that accidentally redirected to the Palace in the standby position to facilitate firing assault.
