Prawirotaman, Village Of Batik And Lodging
Prawirotaman, an area located about five kilometers from the city center can become confused when looking for alternative lodging. The area was not only provides a unique and affordable lodging, but also a row of artshop, cafes, book shops, traditional markets, and a slate which of course could be an alternative tourism as well. Prawirotaman as a village known since the 19th century, when a royal palace named Prawirotomo receive prize piece of land from the palace.

Batik Lodging
Since the beginning, this ward does have little to no role in Yogyakarta. Pre-independence period, this village became the concentration camp of fighters. Post-independence, precisely ’60s, this village was known as a batik industrial center which is managed by the descendants Prawirotomo. Meanwhile, since the ’70s, along down of batik industry, the descendants Prawirotomo swerved into the inn and Prawirotaman services began known as the tourist village. (more…)
